The third regional conference in the Heritage Region’s young life will be held in Hartford, Connecticut October 12 -14, 2008, offering Yankee Chapter members an affordable, accessible and high quality communications conference option.
“I had not attended a regional or district conference before this year’s event in Cincinnati,” says Jeanne Hotchkiss, 2008 Conference Chair. “I was very impressed with the quality of the speakers and the scope of content offered. I also enjoyed the more intimate environment of a conference with 200 communicators.”
Many members have expressed their appreciation of a more affordable option to the International Conference and commented on the quality standards being set by the Heritage Region Conferences.
The Hartford Conference will be held at the 4-star Marriott Downtown Hotel, a new facility that is part of the city’s riverfront and convention center development. It’s an easy drive from Boston, Albany, and Providence. Conference room rates are $145 for single and double occupancy and $165 for triple and quadruple occupancy. Registration will be affordable, with a variety of options available.
“The 2008 Conference is definitely worth putting on your calendar and making room in the budget for,” says Jeanne. “And for those who would like some broader visibility or the opportunity to help shape the 2008 Conference experience, we need volunteers.”
There are a number of opportunities to get involved and get connected with IABC members from through the Heritage Region. They range in task and time commitment from working with the Marketing Committee, to Registration Chair, to introducing speakers. Contact Jeanne at jeanne.hotchkiss@gmail.com for more information.
