That’s IABC – the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. We hear it time and time again from volunteers across Chapters and Regions. Now is your opportunity to jump in – get involved with the 2008 Heritage Region Conference – volunteers are still needed!
With 15,000 members worldwide, it can be tricky to form relationships with IABC members beyond our chapter. That’s part of the reason IABC has a tiered organizational structure with Regions as well as chapters.
The Heritage Region, of which Yankee is a part, is working to help create longer bridges for chapter members. One way to do this is with its Regional Conferences.
These sessions are designed to be a lower cost alternative to the International Conference with the same caliber of programming. They are also more intimate gatherings to help you get to know fellow IABCers from Maine to Michigan, Pennsylvania to Virginia, and New York to Ohio – not a bad networking territory!
As ever, you get more out of any IABC offering when you put something in to it. The 2008 Heritage Region Conference, which will be held in Hartford, CT, from October 12-14, 2008, still could use some volunteer support.
Yankee President Dave Siefert is serving on the speaker committee and Bruce Mendelsohn is chairing the registration committee. But Bruce needs some help, and so does the Conference Marketing committee. Time commitments for both are flexible. You can get as deeply involved as your schedule permits – but it’s a great way to connect with others.
The Conference Committee could also use some suggestions of companies worth approaching as potential sponsors for the event. Don’t worry, they’ll do the pitching, they just need names and contact information.
