Topic of Discussion - Boosting Managers' Communication Competency, Employees' Engagement Levels and Company's Profitability

Numerous studies have shown that effective communications between managers and staff not only boosts retention and productivity but also a company’s financial performance. Karen Papa led a team of communication professionals at Textron Inc. in finding a best practice approach to improving managers’ communications skills. When their search did not turn up a satisfactory solution, they created one. During her tenure at Textron, she piloted and refined the program she will speak about this evening.

Karen recently established an organizational communications consultancy business. Prior to this, Karen served as marcom manager at GTECH, Employee Communications Manager at Hasbro, Director of Internal Communications at Textron Inc., and SVP of Communications at Textron Financial.
